Dr Veronica Stanganelli
Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
After qualifying as a medical doctor from the School of Medicine at the University of the Republic of Uruguay in 1980, Dr Stanganelli gained her degree in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 1984. She has been employed by Queensland Health as a Senior Medical Officer in Psychiatry since 2002.
Dr Stanganelli has been involved in a number of research projects dealing with child and adolescent mental health conditions and developed and overseen hospital, clinic and community programs to treat those conditions.
Dr Stanganelli gives back to her profession. She has adapted the RANZCP CPD program to assist rural psychiatrists to maintain clinical practice via telehealth technology and has developed a corresponding program for overseas doctors. Currently, Dr Stanganelli is working as full time Consultant Psychiatrist at the Mackay Child and Youth Mental Health Service since 15 March 2010.
